The Michigan State University Sailing Center is located on Lake Lansing in Haslett just east of campus. The Center offers quality instruction and rentals for both students and the general public. We offer classes in sailing, stand up paddleboarding, and kayaking. Come discover a lifelong sport that can be either exciting or relaxing but always fun and rewarding. Regardless of age, ability or limitation we offer programs for everyone.
The facility consists of a one-quarter acre lot located in Meridian Township on the southwest shore of Lake Lansing about five miles from the MSU campus.

ADA Dock
Recreational Sports and Fitness Services has had the “Sports for All” programming platform for over 35 years. We aim to make all our programming accessible to everyone. In 2023, with the help of donors, the MSU Sailing Center installed an EZ Launch kayak dock with a ADA Transfer Bench along with Mobi-mat Walkway. This project allowed the MSU Sailing Center to become ADA compliant while also providing a better experience for all participants.

The MSU Sailing Center is open to the public. Our staff strive to provide a safe, supportive and welcoming learning environment for all participants. We offer scheduled, customized and private instructional and recreational programs for all ages in sailing, boating, paddle sports, safety and experiential youth programs.
