Aquatics

The Recreational Sports and Fitness Services Aquatic staff is dedicated to providing a safe and healthy aquatic environment for all users. We are committed to the importance of water safety and training for our lifeguards, swim instructors, and our community. We believe that aquatic pursuits are a lifetime skill and a healthy recreational activity.

Aquatics offers recreational swimming at three campus locations. The IM West Outdoor Pool is a facility located behind the IM Sports West. During the summer months the IM West Outdoor Pool is open to the public with the purchase of a Public Pool Usage Pass. During the winter months, the IM Sports West Outdoor Pool will be closed.

The IM Sports West Indoor Pool is open year round for recreational swimming. It is also the home to the Men's and Women's MSU swim teams. The IM West Indoor Pool is located in IM Sports West and can be accessed from both the Women's and Men's locker rooms.

The IM Sports Circle Pool is also open year round for recreational swimming. It is also home to the Spartan Swim School program offered by Recreational Sports and Fitness Services.

In addition to recreational swimming, Recreational Sports and Fitness Services Pools provides practice space for many of our Sport Clubs, such as Water Polo, Triathlon and Underwater Hockey.

An aquatic lift or stair is available at all pools for swimmers who may need additional assistance entering and leaving the pools.

Patrons must present a valid student, faculty, staff, spouse/partner or Community (outdoor pool only) MSU Issued ID Card to enter the pool facilities.

The IM West Outdoor Pool will be closed based on the following factors: air temperature, wind chill temperature, wind speed, and inclement weather. Please check Pool Hours for cancellation information.
