Girls Get Going 2017

Saturday, April 8th -  IM Sports West – Sports Arena

Event starts at 9:00 am / doors open at 8:30 am

Sponsored by MSU’s Recreational Sports and Fitness Services, WorkLife, Student Parent Resource Center and Daring Ideas LLC, this program was first initiated in conjunction with the national girls and women’s sports goal of providing educational sport experiences for girls as a method of increasing their interest in participating in sport over their lifetime.

Girls from 3rd to 8th grade are invited to participate in a Saturday morning clinic designed to introduce and encourage them to learn sports and fitness skills in a variety of activities. This year we offer flag football, volleyball, basketball, Zumba and taekwondo. MSU athletes, students and community leaders assist with the skills and drills. A circuit training method is employed which allows all the girls an opportunity to participate in all 5 activities.

This is our 14th year; we invite and welcome girls to try something new!

For the safety and well being of each child, the registration process for Girls Get Going has changed this year to align with MSU’s new policies for operating youth programs on campus.  Through education we can make a difference!
