Alumni Access

Recreational Sports ID Card

Alumni Access to MSU Intramural Sports Facilities

Historically, MSU Alumni have enjoyed access to the Intramural Sports Facilities and this privilege will not change. In order to continue to provide improved and more secure access, a new photograph ID system has been put in place where MSU Alumni receive a durable pictured Recreational Sports ID Card. A new service is being offered to include spouses, other eligible individuals (OEI), and memberships for the outdoor pool that can include minor children.

This ID Card is available to graduates (undergraduate and graduate) of MSU and their spouses or OEI for an annual card activation fee of $25 and permits access to the MSU Intramural Sports Facilities. Access to these facilities is not available to the general public, and this ID Card expires annually on December 31.

Building Access

An authorized user with a Recreational Sports ID Card may use the general intramural facilities at IM Sports West, IM Sports East, and IM Sports Circle at no charge, which includes basketball gymnasiums, racquetball courts, indoor track (IM East), indoor pools, turf arena (IM West), and squash courts. With an additional daily fee, alumni can access the Fitness Centers at IM West and IM East, Group Exercise classes at any location, and the Outdoor Pool at IM West.

All Access Membership

An authorized user with a Recreational Sports ID Card also has the option to purchase an All Access Membership, which allows access to the Fitness Centers at IM West and IM East, Group Exercise classes at any location, and the Outdoor Pool at IM West.

Building Access plus Outdoor Pool Pass

How do I gain access to the IM Circle men’s and women’s locker rooms?

Access to the IM Circle locker rooms requires an active Recreational Sports ID Card. A separate, secure access card is required for gaining entrance to the locker rooms through the ID Office, located in the International Center. The fee for this ID is $10 and a special form from the Department of Recreational Sports and Fitness Services is required before arriving at the ID Office. This form can be obtained at the same time you are purchasing your Recreational Sports ID Card at IM West. It can also be obtained from Angela Michael, facility manager at IM Circle. She may be reached by e-mail at alm@msu.edu or by phone at (517) 432-2661.

What if I lose or break my Recreational Sports ID Card?

Replacement ID cards for any membership level are available for a $25 fee.
